APL updates Gulf Asia Express 2 (GA2) service for Asia-Middle East shipping

As one of the ongoing efforts to optimize the service, APL announced the adjustment of port rotation for its Gulf Asia Express 2 (GA2) service. The adjustment of the port rotation allows APL container carrier to access the Taiwan export market via Kaoshiung port and the import market via both Kaoshiung and Taipei ports. With the addition of the Vung Tau port, GA2 also allows direct connection to Vietnam from Middle East. In addition, the GA2 service will form a pendulum service with South China Loop 8 (SC8) service of transpacific services.

The port rotation of GA2 service is revised as follows:

Kaohsiung - Shanghai - Ningbo - Shanghai - Taipei - Shekou - Tanjung Pelepas - Port Klang - Jebel Ali - Umm Qasr - Jebel Ali - Port Klang - Vung Tau - Hong Kong - Kaohsiung - Taipei - Shanghai (continued on South China Loop service 8 (SC8) of trans-Pacific service

The first vessel to apply the revised port rotation is Ever Shine, with an expected ETA Shanghai on April 22, 2020 (First voyage to omit Kaoshiung with change of rotation to call Shanghai first instead of Ningbo).
