CMA CGM confirms customer data leak incident

CMA CGM has informed customers that a limited leak of contact information regarding certain customers has been detected on a Group's mobile application during regular surveillance operations.
The leak involved customer representatives' personal data including: first and last names, employer, position, business email address and phone number.
Confidential information related to commercial contracts, bank details and other information with CMA CGM remains completely confidential.
There is no operational impact on the Group's operations and all operating systems of CMA CGM are operating normally. All data exchanges with CMA CGM's customers and suppliers remain completely confidential.
Its IT team immediately developed and installed security patches on the mobile apps. CMA CGM has notified all relevant authorities of this incident and is working closely with them.
As this type of data can be used for fraudulent activities, CMA CGM advises customers to remain vigilant for any suspicious activity and to follow the following best practices to keep their accounts safe:
Do not share account passwords or any personal information. CMA CGM will never ask for this information from the customer.
Always check the authenticity of emails asking customers to log into CMA CGM's platform (especially if asked to reset password) even if the email appears to have been sent by CMA CGM Group.
A dedicated customer support team has been established. Customers can contact via email: [email protected] for support.
CMA CGM was hacked into the network in September 2020. At the time, CMA CGM was the target of a ransomware attack that it initially said was isolated from regional servers. The booking, tracking, route finder, pricing and invoicing systems were all down and it took CMA CGM two weeks to restore the systems.
