Cosco Shipping expands by 3 million teu at Quanzhou port

The two-port project with a tonnage of 100,000 tons invested and built by Cosco Shipping Ports in Quanzhou, applying smart port solutions and reducing carbon emissions developed by Cosco Shipping, can operate completely without driver all day long. The new terminals are also equipped with shore power systems, which are already available at all terminals in Quanzhou's Shihu port area.

Phase one project has begun operations. When the entire project is completed, the annual handling capacity of the Shihu port area will increase by 40% to 3 million teu.

With the provision of the new terminal, Cosco Shipping Lines and OOCL, two container service providers under the Cosco Shipping Group, are opening two new routes to Singapore and Malaysia, further strengthening foreign trade service capabilities in these ports. Southeast Asia and expanding the Maritime Silk Road market.

Cosco Shipping Group began operating the Quanzhou Shihu terminal in 2006, which has established direct shipping connections with Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines and other Belt and Road Initiative countries and regions.
