COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers Receives Delivery of 77,000 DWT Multipurpose Pulp Carrier ‘GREEN SALVADOR’

On September 20, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers marked a milestone by naming and delivering the tenth ship in the 77,000 DWT multipurpose pulp carrier series, “GREEN SALVADOR”, in Dalian. This series of specialized pulp carriers is the largest in the world.
The “GREEN SALVADOR” has a total length of 225.0 meters, a design width of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21.0 meters and a design speed of 15 knots. The ship is capable of traveling up to 25,000 nautical miles, helping to save energy and be environmentally friendly, and is considered a green ship. The ship's cargo hold is container-shaped and equipped with an alternating dehumidification system, ensuring the quality and safety of pulp transportation.
In addition to serving pulp customers, the ship can also transport a variety of goods such as high-speed trains, wind power equipment, new energy electric vehicles, large machinery and equipment, super-long and super-heavy steel structures, and many other types of goods. In particular, to enhance safety when transporting new energy electric vehicles, this series of ships has integrated a “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and early warning system.
According to the information, the first voyage of the “GREEN SALVADOR” will start on the South America-East route, transporting vehicles, containers, construction equipment and other cargoes from domestic ports to Brazil.
In recent years, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers has been actively involved in the pulp transportation market, cooperating closely with major pulp producers in the world. By tailoring ship types to the specific characteristics of the cargo, the company is striving to build a world-class pulp carrier fleet.
To date, the company has successfully operated more than 30 multi-purpose specialized pulp carriers with a capacity of 62,000 DWT, 68,000 DWT, 72,000 DWT to 77,000 DWT. In the future, the company plans to continue to develop different types of pulp carriers, optimize the fleet and enhance customer service capabilities.
