Shanghai Port records 127.1% jump in first half profit
Shanghai International Port (SIPG) reported a net profit of CNY 8.7 billion in the first half of 2021, up 127.1 percent year-on-year.

In the first half of the year, the Shanghai Port achieved cargo throughput of 270 million tons, up 14.6% year-on-year. Container throughput reached 22.94 million TEU, up 14.3%, of which, the Yangshan port area completed a container throughput of 11,156 million TEU, accounting for 48.6% of Shanghai's total container throughput.
For future growth, the port will focus on core business, enhance innovation capacity and seek breakthroughs from diverse industries.
Shanghai Port will also accelerate the construction of smart ports, green ports, technology ports and efficient ports, promote large-scale strategic cooperation and consolidate resources to continuously improve core competitiveness.
The port of Shanghai's business revenue in the first half of the year reached 17.36 billion yuan, up 44.2% year-on-year.
