CMA CGM plans to impose new overweight surcharge on Asia to Africa route

Shipping line CMA CGM has announced a new Overweight Surcharge (OWS) from Asia to Africa route, effective next month.
Specifically, the Maersille-based shipping line said it will apply a surcharge of $150/20' dry container with a total container grossweight of over 18 tons from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Mainland China, especially Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR and Taiwan to Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola and Gabon.
According to the announcement of CMA CGM, the overweight surcharge will come into effect on August 14.
