Container throughput at major Chinese ports increased by 3.4% in early July

In early July, container throughput at eight major Chinese ports increased by 3.4% over the same period last year.

According to the report, export container volume at Xiamen port increased by 1.5% and Guangzhou port had a growth rate of more than 10%.

Total cargo volume at major coastal ports increased by 12.1% over the same period last year, of which export volume increased by 14.4%.

Crude oil shipments at major coastal ports increased 26.8% over the same period last year, in which the growth rate of Rizhao and Tianjin ports exceeded 50%.

Shipments of metal ore at major ports increased by 18.3% over the same period last year, of which the growth rate of Tianjin port exceeded 60%.

Cargo volume at the three major ports on the Yangtze River, namely Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing, fell 4.9% year-on-year while container volumes increased slightly by 0.2%. However, some ports along the Yangtze River have been temporarily suspended due to recent floods.
