Folk Maritime shipping line is headquartered in the capital Riyadh and is run by former leader of Hamburg Süd shipping line Poul Hestbaek, who left Maersk at the end of August last year.
Folk Maritime positions itself as Saudi Arabia's first dedicated feeder/logistics operator, providing services in the Middle East and surrounding areas.
In addition to Mr. Hestbaek, this organization is also run by former ARK Logistics & Maritime director Saleem Kadernani as chief commercial officer, chief of finance Khalid Fawzi, and head of human resources Abdulrahman Alshangiti.
The company currently operates two services in the Red Sea, with two 2,500 TEU supply vessels, connecting Jeddah with Neom, Yanbu in Saudi Arabia, and Ain Sokhna in Egypt weekly, and operates one vessel small, with a capacity of 700 TEU connecting to Sudan every two weeks.
