In setting out its 2030 strategy, Hapag-Lloyd plans to continue investing in its core business of container shipping as well as growing its port portfolio.

As part of its strategy, the shipping line will continue to invest in strengthening its core business of container shipping, while - in parallel - expanding its terminal and fixed assets portfolio. Trying to develop in the field of road transport.

The shipping line wants to consolidate its position among the top 5 global shipping lines and increase its presence in key markets, including Africa, India, Southeast Asia and the Pacific by developing ahead of the market.

According to analyst Alphaliner, Hapag-Lloyd is currently the world's 5th largest container shipping line with a capacity of 2.05 million TEU, accounting for 7% of the global market share.

Hapag-Lloyd said it will double down on its quality strategy, aiming for an on-time delivery rate of over 80% and enhancing operations and customer service. Gemini cooperation with Maersk will be an important step towards this goal, as will strengthening internal processes.

The shipping line affirmed that it fully accepts environmental responsibility and contributes to controlling global warming with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement, committing to reduce absolute greenhouse gas emissions by about one-third by 2030 and achieve the target of operating a net zero greenhouse gas fleet by 2045. This will be achieved through a range of measures, including fleet modernization, new engine technology and use alternative fuels.
