Hapag-Lloyd Announces Rate Increase from Asia to Latin America from January 2024
Hapag-Lloyd Shipping Line has announced the introduction of a General Rate Increase (GRI) from Asia to Latin America West Coast, Mexico, Caribbean, Central America and Latin America East Coast from January 1, 2024.
Hapag-Lloyd, a German container shipping company headquartered in Hamburg, has announced a General Rate Increase (GRI) from Asia to the West Coast of Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and the East Coast of Latin America.
The new GRI will be effective from January 1 and will apply to cargo transported in 20- and 40-foot dry containers, including 40-foot high cube (40'HQ) containers and 40-foot non-operative reefers (40'NOR).
Details of the increase are as follows:
- Container 20'DC : $500
- Container 40'DC: $1,000
- Container 40'HQ: $1,000
- Container 40'NOR: $1,000
Hapag-Lloyd has announced the following geographic scope for this rate increase:
Asia (excluding Japan), including the following countries: China, Macau, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei
The West Coast of Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and the East Coast of Latin America includes the following countries: Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay
