German shipping line Hapag-Lloyd announces a new General Rate Increase (GRI) from Asia to the West Coast of Latin America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and the East Coast of Latin America for 20'DC dry containers and 40'DC, including 40'HC containers and 40'NOR (non-operative reefers).

This GRI will be applicable to all containers from April 1, except for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, where the new rates will take effect from April 19.


The details for this increase are listed below:
20' Dry Container: USD 700
40' Dry Container: USD 900
40' High Cube Container: USD 900
40’ Non-operative Reefer Container: USD 900

Hapag-Lloyd notes the following geographical ranges:

From Asia (excluding Japan), covering the following countries: China, Macau, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Brunei.

To the West Coast of Latin America, Mexico, Caribbean (excluding Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, US), Central America and East Coast of Latin America covering the following countries: Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay.
