Hapag-Lloyd increases in prices from East Asia to the US and Canada starting June 1

Hapag-Lloyd announced it will implement a general rate increase (GRI) for the routes from East Asia to all destinations in the United States and Canada starting June 1, 2020 (date of cargo receipt at origin).

Hapag-Lloyd announced it will implement a general rate increase (GRI) for the routes from East Asia to all destinations in the United States and Canada starting June 1, 2020 (date of cargo receipt at origin).

This general rate increase will apply to all types of goods transported by dry containers, refrigerated containers, NOR (non-operating reefer) containers, tank containers, flat-rack containers and open-top containers as follows:

The routes from East Asia to North America (United States and Canada)

USD 560 per all 20' container types
USD 700 per all 40' container types

East Asia is defined as including countries / districts of Japan, Korea, China / Taiwan, China / Hong Kong, China (PRC), China / Macao, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines and Russia's Pacific coastal provinces.
