OOCL launches its first eco-friendly container vessel in 2024: The 24,188 TEU OOCL Valencia

OOCL (Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd.) has unveiled a new mega container vessel with a capacity of 24,000 TEU. The latest addition to OOCL's fleet, “OOCL Valencia”, was named in a ceremony held on January 5th at the shipyard of Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS).

This is the seventh eco-friendly vessel with a capacity of 24,188 TEU in a series of twelve ordered by OOCL and is also the first new vessel of OOCL in 2024, which will serve the OOCL's Asia-Europe LL1 service.

Ms. YING Xiuzhen, Director and Vice President of China-Base Ningbo Group Co., Ltd., attended the naming ceremony for the vessel “OOCL Valencia” and extended her congratulations.

Ms. YU Tao, Director and member of the Executive Committee of OOCL, stated at the ceremony: “Last year, OOCL received a total of six new container vessels and thus rapidly optimized the fleet structure of both OOCL and the group. In the new year, in addition to the OOCL Valencia, more high-quality and high-performance ships will sail from here. OOCL and NACKS will continue to work for win-win cooperation, grow together, and strive to create value for customers and society.
