Danish marine data analytics company Sea-Intelligence has released a new Global Liner Performance (GLP) report, with schedule reliability metrics up to August 2022.

The reliability of global shipping schedules continues to trend upward, recording an improvement in August 2022 of 5.8 percentage points and an increase of 46.2% month-on-month. Danish analysts have noticed that average delays for late arrivals are on a steep downward trend this year.

In August 2022, the average delay continued to improve sharply, decreasing by 0.57 days compared to the previous month to 5.86 days. This is the first time the average delay has fallen below the six-day mark since April 2021.

Six other carriers recorded schedule reliability of over 40%, five carriers recorded schedule reliability of 30%-40%, while Yang Ming recorded the lowest schedule reliability of 29.8 %.

In August 2022, once again, several carriers were very close to each other in terms of schedule reliability, with the 10 carriers differing by 7 percentage points. Additionally, 12 of the top 14 shipping lines recorded a month-on-month improvement, while all 14 recorded year-over-year improvements, with 11 of those shipping lines recording double-digit improvements and 3 shipping lines recorded an improvement of over 20 percentage points.
