5. Port of Keelung
Port of Keelung is a major seaport city on the north coast of Taiwan. It is part of the Taipei-Keelung metropolitan area and is Taiwan's second-largest port. The harbor of Keelung Harbor is naturally a wonderful harbour, free of alluvium and surrounded by mountains. Located just over 37 kilometers east of Taipei, the port of Keelung is approximately 473 nautical miles northeast of Hong Kong. This is the main seaport of Taipei.
Keelung Port was expanded during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, and it continued to prosper under the Chinese Kuomintang government. It has several shipyards and busy cement and fertilizer industries. The Japanese use Keelung port mainly to export raw materials to Japan. Today, Keelung Port is Taipei's major import hub and it has become an important international port. It is also a major fishing port with fish canning and freezing plants. In 1840, the port of Keelung was a small port that welcomed foreign ships. In 1860, Keelung was established as a treaty port and opened to foreign trade.
In 2011, Keelung Port handled a total of 6,900 vessels carrying 75.4 million tonnes of cargo including over 1.7 million TEUs of container cargo. Of that total, Keelung Port's Su-ao port serves 573 ships and handles nearly 5.5 million tons of cargo, and Taipei port serves 2,980 ships carrying more than 38.3 million tons of cargo including nearly 653, 4 TEUs of container cargo.
The Port of Keelung has a total of 56 berths with a total length of nearly 10 km (6.2 mi) divided between the West Coast Area and the East Coast Area. 26 berths are operating in the West Coast Area of Keelung Port and 14 berths operating in the East Coast Area. Ports in the West Coast area of Port Keelung have a total landing distance of nearly 5.4 km (3.3 mi) with a depth of 3 to 14.5 meters (9.8 to 47.6 feet). The berths in the East Coast area of Keelung Port have a total landing distance of 2.6 km (1.6 mi) with a depth of 3 to 13 meters (9.8 to 42.7 feet).
Keelung Port has 39 warehouses on a total area of 12.8 acres with a total handling capacity of 127.4 thousand tons of cargo. Operated by the Port of Keelung, seven of these facilities cover a total area of 5 acres and are capable of storing 24.3 thousand tons of cargo. The West Coast of Keelung Harbor has five warehouses covering 3.8 acres. Warehouses No. 2 and 6 in the East Coast Area of Keelung Port have a total area of 1.2 acres and are capable of handling more than 5.6 thousand tons of cargo.

6. Common fees and surcharges in ocean container shipping
- O/F (Ocean Freight)
Ocean freight is the amount that the charterer has to pay to the shipping line or freight forwarding company for the carriage to bring the goods to the destination and ready to deliver to the consignee.
- Documentation fee:
Documentary fees are collected by the shipping line/forwarding company when issuing documents relating to the shipment being shipped.
- B/L (Bill of Lading) fee:
B/L fee is a Bill of lading issuance fee, which is collected by the carrier being a shipping line or a freight forwarding company.
