Maersk Relocates PANZ Service to Fenix Marine Terminal

Maersk recently issued an advisory regarding the relocation of its PANZ service terminal operations in the Southern California region. Specifically, the service will transition from the Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) to the Fenix Marine Services (FMS) Terminal. This change will officially take effect on June 12, 2026.

Operational Transition Schedule

To ensure seamless information flow for shippers, the carrier has scheduled the transition between the two terminals as follows:

● Last vessel calling LBCT: CMA CGM Dutch Harbour, with an Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) of June 5, 2026.

● First vessel calling FMS: Fos Express, with an ETA of June 12, 2026.

Strategic Importance of the PANZ Route

The PANZ service plays a strategic role in connecting the US West Coast and Canada with the Oceania region. The port rotation includes major ports such as Seattle, Oakland, Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, and Tauranga. Certain port calls along this route are performed on a fortnightly basis.

According to Maersk, this terminal shift is aimed at ensuring smoother operations while providing customers with ample time to adjust their supply chain planning.

The carrier also advised customers to proactively review their schedules and coordinate closely on cargo dispatch prior to the transition date to avoid any unnecessary disruptions.
