Hamburg Sud restructured globally according to a new strategy of Maersk
Hamburg Süd is making changes in its organizational structure as parent company AP Moller - Maersk moves to foster integration of other independent brands and businesses into its logistics and shipping portfolio.
The restructuring of Hamburg Süd comes as soon as Maersk announces the complete merger of the Safmarine and Damco, and both brands will cease operations by the end of 2020.
In the Hamburg Süd areas of operations, the organizational structure and geographic area will restructure more in line with the parent company's brand strategy - Maersk - and a multi-brand Regional Ocean Management team will be established.
Additionally, Hamburg Süd has established the Expansion Management Group at its headquarters in Hamburg to ensure a comprehensive approach and a sustainable brand with a differentiated service model. The expanded management team consists of CEOs and CFOs along with the global heads of marketing, key account management, customer experience, IT, and HR.

The carrier said the multi-brand Regional Ocean Management team will take advantage of these additional market advantages and that the establishment of Hamburg Süd's regional organization will be integrated with Maersk.
The new structure will facilitate alignment between all brands in Maersk for the benefit of customers, the carrier added.
