Ningbo Port remains quite stable after the closure of Ningbo Meidong port due to Covid
The port of Ningbo has maintained a fairly stable operation after the Meidong port of this port had to be closed due to a case of Delta variant detected on August 11.
Ningbo Zhoushan Port
The port of Ningbo - one of the busiest cargo handling ports in the world - has maintained a fairly stable operation after the Ningbo Meidong terminal in this port was closed due to a case of Delta variant infection detected on the same day 11 August.
According to the operation update of Ningbo Zhoushan port, the port has completed container handling capacity of 85,000 TEU, 64,000 TEU and 77,000 TEU on August 11-13. The average daily container throughput for these three days was more than 75,000 TEUs, or 90% of the daily container throughput through Ningbo Zhoushan port in July.
At present, other terminals at Ningbo Zhoushan port are still operating normally except for Ningbo Meidong port.
During the January-July period, Ningbo Zhoushan Port achieved cargo throughput of 718 million tons, up 5.6% year-on-year, with container throughput of 18.68 million TEUs, up 17,1%.
