ONE Adjusts Emergency Fuel Surcharge Across Its Global Network

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced an adjustment to its Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) across its global shipping network. The revised surcharge will take effect on 15 August 2026 and will remain in force until further notice.

Details of the Revised Surcharge

According to ONE, the updated EFS will apply to both long-haul and short-sea services, subject to the regulations and mandatory notice periods applicable in each market.

The revised surcharge levels are as follows:

Long-Haul Headhaul Services

●    Dry containers: USD 75 per TEU

●    Reefer containers: USD 100 per TEU

Long-Haul Backhaul Services

●    Dry containers: USD 38 per TEU

●    Reefer containers: USD 50 per TEU

Short-Sea Services

●    Dry containers: USD 38 per TEU

●    Reefer containers: USD 50 per TEU

Applicable Across Most Trade Lanes

ONE stated that the revised surcharge will apply to both FMC-regulated and non-FMC-regulated trade lanes.

The scope of application covers import and export shipments involving the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Saipan, and Hawaii, with the effective date of 15 August 2026, subject to the regulatory requirements of each respective market.

The surcharge adjustment reflects ONE's efforts to respond to ongoing fuel cost volatility in the international shipping market while maintaining stable operations across its global service network.
